I like Google Buzz. It gives me something to do while on Gmail waiting for emails from clients of mine such as Mr. “my timezone is in wonderland and I swallowed that pill that made me small now I can’t reach my computer to send you that email”. Google Buzz does make waiting a bit tolerable.
Anyway, the only thing I don’t like about it is that I’m assumed to follow the people from my Google Contacts. That actually doesn’t sit well with me. Most people I talk to are clients, and I would like to keep it that way. And perhaps, they are not that social.
Yes there is a profile search function to help find people. But I say please include an “I’m Feeling Lucky” button; press hit and a 26 year old Marketing chic profile comes up. Now that’s a real buzz.
The only problem I have with this rip-off is that Google is a free Search Engine service. Come on, no one is getting anything here. Here’s an idea though. How about ripping-off Shopzilla and call it Yangtze-zilla – comparison shopping half the regular prize, and half the regular quality.
Bob Marley died because of a foot wound he got from playing soccer. The wound got infected with malignant melanoma which eventually spread painfully all over his body including the lungs and brain ultimately ending his life. But actually, Bob had a chance to prevent his early death. All he had to do is have his legs surgically removed to stop the spread. However in the Rastafari religion, the body must be kept as a whole. Of course, Bob refused leg surgery and chose to bear and suffer pain. And still he danced and jumped and sang of peace and unity in his live performances instead of being treated in the best hospitals in the world.
So what did Bob benefit from these hardships and suffering? Simple. He lives on. And today marks his 65th birthday and people from across the globe will be celebrating his life and music. Happy birthday Bob.
I don’t like bad news but apparently somebody destroyed the Mama Mary statue atop famous landmark Willy’s Rock at Boracay Station 1. I got the Facebook message from the group “Boracay please, not BORA“. They aim to educate/correct the use of Boracay, since many people including me address the island as “bora” because it’s cool like that. Anyway, this is serious stuff. Willy’s Rock is a famous landmark that any beach loving creature would want to visit again and again. Probably some drunk idiots did this. I hope they’d be caught and be smashed and burned too. What kind of soul do they have? I mean come on. Look at the place.
Boracay is one the most beautiful beaches in the world and many people would like to keep it that way. Sure I did destroy some sand castles when I was there but that was kinda cool. This is not. Boracay must be preserved. Hey, I’d like to have my wedding at Puka Beach someday so please.
My girlfriend and I are planning to go there later this summer. Here’s some awesome Boracay travel packages if you’re poor like me. Enjoy.
Dave Matthews Band didn’t win album of the year earlier today, but they did show what music is all about. Performing You and Me from their latest album Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, DMB got help from an awesome crew of singers, percussionists, horn players and a string section to back Boyd Tinsley’s violin. AWESOME.
I was expecting to hear Why I Am, but they did crank ‘You and Me’ huge for the Grammys. The extra layer of symphony made it grandiose. And Dave doing his ‘dance’ made it the signature DMB jam. Something the band has been doing for almost 20 years, and something sadly not too many people know. Anyway, to us loyal fans it was an epic performance and that’s all that really matters. We have always heard and loved their great music, Grammy or no Grammy.
