Universal yet nebulous in origin. The surname alone (pronounced as “ka-fweer”) is a topic of intensive debate. It is said that it came from Portugal where roots could be traced but not located. However, as time and earth embrace movement, kinship are recently surfacing from different parts of the globe, thanks to the Internet. Tj’s life and times has been briefly chronicled in a once magnificent blog called, Half the World Away. Blogging from Manila, he aims to direct his blog to a much larger audience.

The author is a certified film buff. A film review blog about his favorite movies from the classics to the sublime is yet to be launched. There is nothing more treasured than good seats to a Johnny Depp movie or a DVD copy of any Stanley Kubrick film, both of which are heroes to him. He once quoted that he wanted to study film and somehow direct an independently produced film of his own script, that very well maybe wishful thinking. So for now.
Music is life. As diverse as any ear, music is played, listened and hummed anywhere he goes. From bus rides to the railways, there isn’t a minute a song isn’t sung in the mind. He is currently rocking out to Everything is Magic by Angels and Airwaves, a band who is a deep influence. He plays the guitar and distorts peace with his harmonica. He dreams of learning the violin.
Perhaps the most valuable of all, Tj loves the sun, sand and surf. In his eyes, panoramic is a streamlined beach capped by the setting sun with the wind in the hair and an earthly feeling in the toes. Very much unlike the city rush, he wants life in a slow pace. Where everything could be given thought and time.
